Verify a thermometer against a reference temperature, apply the correction, and keep a dated log of every check — saved on this device only.
Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.
Verification log — saved on this device only
Add each check to the log. Entries are saved on this device only (gifsq_tool_299) — nothing leaves the device.

Method: Thermometer verification per ISO/IEC 17025 clause 6.4 (equipment) and ISO 17025 calibration practice: compare the thermometer with a traceable reference at a known temperature (ice point 0 °C and boiling point 100 °C are common checks) and record the correction.
Assumptions: the reference temperature is traceable and stable; the thermometer and reference are at the same temperature when read; the tolerance is the laboratory limit for this thermometer and use.
Limitations: a two-point check does not prove accuracy across the whole range — verify at the temperatures you actually use; a thermometer that drifts between checks needs a shorter interval.
Rounding: correction and error to 2 decimal places; intermediates unrounded.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value.

Add each check to the log below. A fail means take the thermometer out of service until it is adjusted or recalibrated. Tool 299 of 500 — GIFSQ
