Share a batch of samples across the analysts: total tests, total analyst-hours, hours per analyst, and whether the work fits the days available.
Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.

Total tests

Total hours

Hours per analyst

Workdays needed
Equation: Total tests = samples × tests per sample. Total hours = total tests × minutes per test ÷ 60. Hours per analyst = total hours ÷ analysts. Workdays needed = hours per analyst ÷ 7.5 (one standard workday). The batch fits when workdays needed is at or under the workdays available.
Method: Workload assignment per ISO/IEC 17025:2017, clause 6.2 (personnel): work is assigned only to competent personnel, and the load is checked against the people and days available before the batch is promised.
Assumptions: every test takes the stated minutes on average; analysts work a 7.5-hour day on this batch only; set-up, review and reporting time are not included unless added to the minutes per test.
Limitations: an even split is only a plan — real benches differ in speed and interruptions, so the per-analyst figure is a planning average, not a promise.
Rounding: hours to 2 decimal places; workdays to 2 decimal places; intermediates unrounded.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value. Records are kept only in this browser on this device (localStorage); this is a device-only record aid, not a shared multi-user LIMS, and nothing is sent to any server.

Worked example: 20 samples × 4 tests at 30 minutes each, 2 analysts, 5 days: 80 tests, 40.00 hours in total, 20.00 hours per analyst, 2.67 workdays — fits the 5 days available.

If the batch does not fit, add analysts, split the batch, or agree a later due date before accepting it. Tool 265 of 500 — GIFSQ
