Score a supplier for approval: criteria met against the approval checklist, weighted with the latest audit score, and the approval status.

Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.

–
Criteria met (%)
–
Weighted approval score
–
Approval status
Equation: Criteria met (%) = criteria met ÷ total criteria × 100. Weighted approval score = criteria met (%) × 0.6 + audit score × 0.4. Status: 80 and above Approved, 60–79 Conditional, below 60 Rejected.
Method: Supplier approval per ISO 22000:2018 clause 7.1.6 (control of externally provided processes, products and services) and the supplier-approval requirements of GFSI-benchmarked schemes such as FSSC 22000 and BRCGS Food Safety. The 60/40 weighting is the tool’s stated rule, not a scheme requirement.
Assumptions: the audit score is the most recent audit, on a 0–100 scale; the criteria are the site’s own approval checklist.
Limitations: the score supports the approval decision — it does not replace the site visit, the specification check or the review of the supplier’s own food safety system.
Rounding: percentages and the weighted score to 2 decimal places; intermediates unrounded.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value.
Worked example: 18 of 20 criteria met with an 85% audit score: criteria 90.00%, weighted score 90 × 0.6 + 85 × 0.4 = 88.00 — Approved.
