Work out servings per pack and how a serving compares with the reference amount (RACC) for the food.
Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.
–
Servings per pack
–
Serving as % of RACC
–
Servings if serving = RACC
Equation: Servings per pack = package weight ÷ serving size. Serving as % of RACC = serving ÷ RACC × 100.
Method: US FDA reference amounts customarily consumed (RACC), 21 CFR 101.12; Health Canada reference amounts, Food and Drug Regulations B.01.401; Codex CXG 2-1985. A serving is the amount customarily eaten at one sitting, not a recommended portion.
Assumptions: the pack contains whole servings only in the count shown (a fractional result means the last serving is partial); RACC is entered in the same unit as the serving.
Limitations: the RACC table differs by food and by jurisdiction — check the correct table for the product; this tool does not decide the serving size for you.
Rounding: servings to 1 decimal place; % of RACC to 1 decimal place; intermediates unrounded.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value.

Worked example: Pack 400 g, serving 40 g, RACC 55 g: servings per pack 10.0, serving is 72.7% of the RACC, and a RACC-sized serving would give 7.3 servings.
Enter values above to see results.
If servings per pack comes out fractional, the declared number on the label is rounded per the jurisdiction's rules. Tool 363 of 500 — GIFSQ
