Check a reagent or standard: days of stock at the daily use rate, whether it has hit the reorder level, and whether it expires before it runs out.
Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.

Usable days
Equation: Days of stock = stock on hand ÷ use per day. Reorder when stock is at or below the reorder level. The reagent expires before it runs out when days to expiry is under the days of stock. Usable days = the smaller of days of stock and days to expiry.
Method: Inventory check per ISO/IEC 17025:2017, clause 6.6 (externally provided products and services) and good laboratory practice: reagents and standards are used within their expiry and replaced before they run out.
Assumptions: the daily use rate is the recent average; the reorder level is the stock level that triggers a new order.
Limitations: usable days assume steady use — a sudden run of tests can empty the stock sooner, so re-check after any large batch.
Rounding: days of stock and usable days to 1 decimal place; intermediates unrounded.

Worked example: 500 mL on hand, 25 mL used a day, 30 days to expiry, reorder at 100 mL: 20.0 days of stock, no reorder needed, expiry comes after the stock runs out — 20.0 usable days.
