GIFSQ Tools · Module 15 — Metrology, Validation & Laboratory Accreditation · Tool 291 of 500

Track a method validation study parameter by parameter: percentage complete, pass rate of finished parameters, and what is left — saved on this device only.

Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.

Validation checklist — saved on this device only

Set the status of each validation parameter. The counts above update from this checklist, which is saved on this device only (gifsq_tool_291). Use Clear to wipe the saved checklist.

Equation: Complete (%) = completed ÷ total × 100. Pass rate (%) = passed ÷ completed × 100. Remaining = total − completed.
Method: Validation tracking per ISO/IEC 17025 clause 7.2 and Eurachem method-validation guidance: a validation is complete only when every required parameter (selectivity, linearity, detection and quantification limits, precision, trueness, range, robustness, uncertainty) has been finished and passed.
Assumptions: the counts come from the checklist below; a parameter counts as completed only when it has passed or failed, not while it is in progress.
Limitations: the tracker records status, not evidence — the underlying data and reports still need review; a 100% pass rate on a partial parameter set is not a complete validation.
Rounding: percentages to 2 decimal places; remaining is a whole number; intermediates unrounded.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value.
Worked example: 12 validation parameters, 9 completed, 8 passed: complete = 75.00%, pass rate = 88.89%, remaining = 3.

Enter values above to see results.

A validation is done when every parameter is completed — a high pass rate on a half-finished study is not a pass. Tool 291 of 500 — GIFSQ
