Service overdue
Equation: Utilisation (%) = hours used ÷ hours available × 100. Uptime (%) = hours used ÷ (hours used + downtime) × 100. Days to next service = last service day + service interval − today. The service is overdue when the days to service are below zero.
Method: Equipment register per ISO/IEC 17025:2017, clause 6.4 (equipment): each item is identified, its use and maintenance are recorded, and it is taken out of service when it is overdue for service or found faulty.
Assumptions: the hours available are the hours the equipment could have run this month; downtime is the time it was out of service for a fault or repair.
Limitations: high utilisation with low uptime points at an overloaded item, not a healthy one — check both figures together.
Rounding: percentages to 2 decimal places; days to service is a whole number; intermediates unrounded.

Worked example: 120 h used of 160 h available with 8 h downtime, last serviced day 100 on a 180-day interval, today day 200: utilisation 75.00%, uptime 93.75%, service due in 80 days.
