Check a new formula version: the mass-balance deviation from 100%, the share of ingredients changed, and whether the version passes the balance check. Versions can be saved on this device.

Method: Formulation version control by mass balance: a correct formula sums to 100% (w/w), and every change between versions is recorded with the count of ingredients changed. The 0.50-point tolerance is a working check used in this tool — set the tolerance in your own quality procedure.
Assumptions: the sum is the sum of the as-mixed percentages on the same basis; the changed count counts ingredients whose level changed between versions.
Limitations: a passing balance check does not mean the formula is safe or legal — additive limits, allergen labelling and nutrition must be checked separately.
Rounding: deviation to 2 decimal places; changed share to 2 decimal places; intermediates unrounded.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value.
