Summarise focus-group coding: the share of comments coded, comments per theme, and how many comments are still uncoded.

Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.

–
Coded (%)
–
Comments per theme
–
Comments uncoded
Equation: Coded % = coded ÷ total × 100; per theme = coded ÷ themes; uncoded = total − coded.
Method: Qualitative focus-group analysis practice per ISO 6658:2017 guidance on qualitative sensory methods.
Assumptions: Each comment is coded to at most one theme for the per-theme average; themes are agreed before coding.
Limitations: A summary only — it does not judge whether the themes cover the discussion or whether coding is reliable.
Rounding: Percentages to 2 decimal places; comments per theme to 2 decimal places; counts are whole numbers.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value.
Worked example: 120 comments, 96 coded, 8 themes: 80.00% coded, 12.00 comments per theme, 24 comments uncoded.
