Cost a bakery batch: add up ingredients, labour and overhead, then find the cost per unit and per 100 units.
Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.
–
Total batch cost ($)
–
Cost per unit ($)
–
Cost per 100 units ($)
Equation: Total batch cost = ingredient cost + labour cost + overhead cost. Cost per unit = total batch cost ÷ units produced. Cost per 100 units = cost per unit × 100.
Method: Bakery batch costing practice: ingredient cost from the formula at current prices, labour from the time spent on the batch, overhead as the share of rent, energy and other fixed costs assigned to the batch.
Assumptions: all costs are for the same batch; the overhead figure is the batch share, not the whole month's overhead.
Limitations: the tool does not set a selling price or a margin — add your margin and any waste or unsold units separately before pricing.
Rounding: all costs to 2 decimal places; intermediates unrounded.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value.

Worked example: ingredients $50, labour $20, overhead $10, for 200 units. Total cost = $80.00; cost per unit = $0.40; cost per 100 units = $40.00.
Enter values above to see results.
Keep ingredient, labour and overhead for the same batch. Re-cost when flour or energy prices change. Tool 120 of 500 — GIFSQ
