Score allergen cross-contact risk: the allergens handled, whether equipment is shared, and how much of the range is labelled — with the risk level.

Try sample values — fills the form with the worked example below.

–
Allergen risk score (0–165)
–
Risk level
–
Labelling checked (%)
Equation: Risk score = priority allergens handled × 10 + 25 when equipment is shared (0 otherwise). Labelling checked (%) = products with labelling checked ÷ total products × 100. Level: below 50 Low, 50–99 Medium, 100 and above High.
Method: Allergen management per Codex CAC/RCP 1-1969 (Rev. 2020) allergen cross-contact controls and the allergen labelling rules of the jurisdiction: EU Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 (14 allergens), Canada Food and Drug Regulations priority allergens, US Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act plus the FASTER Act (9 major allergens including sesame). The 10-point-per-allergen and 25-point shared-equipment scoring is the tool’s stated rule, not a legal requirement.
Assumptions: the allergen count is the priority allergens for the jurisdiction the product is sold in; labelling checked means the label was verified against the recipe, not just printed.
Limitations: the score ranks the site’s allergen risk — it does not replace a validated cleaning check or a label verification. A single unlabelled allergen is a recall risk at any score.
Rounding: score is a whole number; labelling to 2 decimal places; intermediates unrounded.
This is a calculation aid, not a laboratory report — confirm against your accredited method before citing a value.
Worked example: 5 allergens handled, shared equipment, 48 of 50 products labelling-checked: score 5 × 10 + 25 = 75 (Medium); labelling 96.00%.

Allergen rules differ by jurisdiction — the 14-allergen list is the EU/UK list; Canada and the US name different priority allergens. Check the market the product is sold in. Tool 250 of 500 — GIFSQ
