SOP: Total Nitrogen in Pepper

Principle

The nitrogen in the pepper sample is determined by the Kjeldahl procedure as given in Chapter 1, using 1 g of black or white pepper sample.

Apparatus required

  • Kjeldahl digestion and distillation apparatus (as given in Chapter 1)

Procedure

Weigh 1 g of the black or white pepper sample

↓

Determine the total nitrogen as given in Chapter 1
