Myofibrillar proteins with high contents of acidic and basic amino acids. Tropomyosin represents approximately 8-10% of myofibrillar protein. Molecules of tropomyosin consist of two coiled peptide chains, attached to each other end to end. The molecules form long, thin, filamentous strands.
