A creamer has two meanings: a dry white powder used as a substitute for milk or cream in tea and coffee, and a small jug or device for serving cream. Non-dairy creamers, made from glucose syrup, vegetable oils, and emulsifiers, whiten and enrich hot drinks for those avoiding dairy, though they add refined carbohydrate and processed fat without milk’s protein and calcium. The serving creamer, whether a jug or a centrifugal separator, belongs to dairy service. Powdered creamers suit offices and travel where fresh milk is impractical, but real milk or cream tastes better and nourishes more.
