The Coffee Science Information Centre, abbreviated CoSIC, is an information service presenting research on coffee and the physiological effects of caffeine. Funded by the coffee industry, it summarises scientific studies on topics such as alertness, metabolism, cardiovascular effects, and pregnancy guidance for health professionals, educators, and the media. Coffee is among the most studied dietary exposures, with evidence linking moderate consumption to lower risks of several diseases, alongside cautions about excess caffeine, sleep disruption, and individual sensitivity. As an industry-funded body its summaries reflect the sector’s perspective, to be weighed against independent reviews.
