France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship 2027 - Master's and PhD Study in France
The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship is run by Campus France for the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. It helps French higher education institutions attract outstanding foreign students into master’s and doctoral programmes, and it is aimed at future decision-makers in the private and public sectors.
Funding: master’s scholars receive a monthly allowance of EUR 1,200 and doctoral scholars EUR 2,000, on top of services paid directly by the programme: international and national transport, insurance, help finding accommodation and cultural activities. Tuition fees are not covered. Master’s funding runs 12 months (entry into the second year), 24 months (entry into the first year) or 36 months (engineering programmes); doctoral funding covers mobility or study periods of 12, 18 or up to 36 months.
Fields: biology and health; ecological transition; mathematics and digital technology; engineering sciences; history, French language and civilisation; law and political science; and economics and management. Food-science applicants typically fit biology and health, ecological transition or engineering sciences.
Who can apply: non-French nationals, up to 29 years old for master’s level (priority to applicants from developing countries) and up to 35 years old for doctoral level. Funded studies must start between 1 September and 30 November 2027.
How to apply: students cannot apply directly. Only French higher education institutions submit applications to Campus France, so the route is to win admission at a French institution and ask it to nominate you; each institution runs its own earlier internal deadline. For the 2027 call, institutions must submit files by 6 January 2027, and results are announced in the week of 12 April 2027.
