FAO Internship Programme for Asia and the Pacific - Call for Expression of Interest (Vacancy 2601981)
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) runs a global Internship Programme that places students and recent graduates inside FAO’s work on food security, agriculture, nutrition and rural development. FAO’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (Bangkok) currently has an open Call for Expression of Interest (vacancy 2601981, published 21 September 2026 on the FAO career portal) for internship placements in the region.
Who can apply: nationals of FAO member countries who are enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme at the time of application, or recent graduates; aged 21 to 30 at the start of the internship; with working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Russian). Candidates need appropriate residence or immigration status in the country of assignment before the internship starts, and close family members employed by FAO are not eligible.
Terms: an internship lasts between 3 and 11 months. Unsponsored interns receive a monthly stipend of up to US$700 (the exact amount depends on the duty station and sponsorship arrangements).
How to apply: apply online through the FAO career portal to the Call for Expression of Interest, enclosing a motivation letter and evidence of attendance at a recognised university. The current Asia-Pacific call closes on 31 December 2026; only selected candidates are contacted.
