The European Master in Animal Biodiversity and Genomics (EMABG) consortium — BOKU (Austria), AgroParisTech (France), University of Göttingen (Germany), Wageningen University (Netherlands), NMBU (Norway) and SLU (Sweden) — has opened the application round for its 3rd intake of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Animal Biodiversity and Genomics.
What it is: a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master responding to sharply increased demand for specialists in animal breeding and genomics — genomic markers, phenotypic data, and how livestock and aquaculture species are bred. Students study at two of the six leading European partner universities and specialize in one of five areas: conservation genomics, breeding programmes for small populations, bioinformatics, One Health, or integrative biology.
Who can apply: the programme trains specialists for livestock and aquaculture breeding/genetics in industry and academia; application details are on the consortium’s programme page.
How to apply: the 3rd-intake application round began on 15 September 2026 and remains open until 15 January 2027. Applications go through the EMABG central application database coordinated by BOKU.
