AFEPA European Master's in Agricultural, Food and Environmental Policy Analysis — 2027 Intake with Consortium Scholarships
The AFEPA European Master’s programme trains students in the economic analysis of agricultural, food and environmental policies. The two-year joint programme (120 ECTS) is delivered by four partner universities: the University of Bonn (Germany), Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Sweden) and UCLouvain (Belgium). Students study at at least two of the partner universities, join an annual summer school, and graduate with two Master’s degrees.
Who can apply: applicants from all countries holding a Bachelor’s degree of at least 180 ECTS with an overall average grade of at least a “B” (final-year students may be admitted provisionally). A solid economics background is required: at least 24 ECTS in economics, including one course in microeconomics and one in statistics. Each university adds its own entry requirements (for example, 42 ECTS in economics or business management for entry at Bonn, 90 ECTS in economics for entry at SLU, and 32 ECTS spread across mathematics/statistics, economics, business and agri-food economics for entry at UCSC). English proficiency must be proven with TOEFL iBT 90 (minimum 20 in the written part) or IELTS 6.5 overall with no section below 5.5; Duolingo tests are not accepted.
Scholarships: for the 2027 intake the consortium offers four scholarships: two paying €1,400 per month for two years (24 months) and two paying €700 per month for two years. Interest in a scholarship is expressed inside the application process. (The earlier European Education and Culture Executive Agency funding period has ended; these are consortium-funded scholarships, and partner universities charge differing tuition and administrative fees.)
How to apply: applications for the 2027 cohort run from 15 October 2026 to 12 February 2027 through the programme’s online application platform. Prepare a single PDF (maximum 4 MB) with proof of nationality, CV, academic transcripts and diploma, a diploma supplement where applicable, school-leaving certificate, language certificate and a motivation letter of no more than 300 words. Selection results are sent to non-European applicants in March.
