Rose wines

Rose wines are pink wines made by giving red grape skins only brief contact with the fermenting juice, so that limited colour and tannin are extracted. The result is a light, fresh wine ranging from pale salmon to deeper pink, typically served chilled. Quality depends on gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation, and protecting the delicate aromas from oxidation. The style bridges white and red winemaking and has grown popular as an easy-drinking warm-weather wine, with production now widespread beyond its traditional regions.
