Pneumatic conveyors
Conveyors that use or contain air or gas under pressure, used to move dry ingredients such as flour, sugar, starches, and grains through pipelines in bakeries, mills, and snack plants. They reduce manual handling, dust exposure, and spillage compared with mechanical conveying. Hygiene demands careful design and operation: moist air, cracked pipes, worn gaskets, or poor filtration can introduce moisture and contaminants into the product stream. Food plants therefore use dry, filtered, food-grade air, sealed cleanable ducting, and regular inspection, since a pneumatic line that looks clean outside can harbor residues and pests inside.
