Chlormequat
Chlormequat, also known as CCC, chlorocholine chloride, or cycocel, is a plant growth regulator applied to cereals, fruits, and vegetables to shorten stems, improve ripening and quality, and strengthen crops against lodging. It can also act as a herbicide at higher application rates. Because residues may remain in harvested grain and produce, regulators set maximum residue limits and monitor compliance, particularly in cereals destined for food and feed. Growers follow label rates and pre-harvest intervals so treated crops meet safety standards while benefiting from sturdier, more uniform stands at harvest.
