Catfish
Catfish are any of a group of 31 families of scaleless fish, often with whisker-like projections around the mouth called barbels and sharp spines in the dorsal and pectoral fins. Most catfish occur in freshwater, and many species around the world are valued as food fish. The flesh tends to be firm with a mild flavour. Commonly consumed catfish include channel catfish, Ictalurus punctatus, cultured in large numbers in the USA, and Clarias species farmed widely in Asia and Africa.
