Beet sugar syrups
Beet sugar syrups are highly concentrated aqueous beet-sugar solutions made by evaporating purified beet sugar juice (thin juice). They serve as intermediates on the way to crystallization in the sugar factory or as finished liquid-sugar ingredients for beverages, bakery, and food manufacturing, where liquid form simplifies handling and dosing. Concentration level, measured in Brix, and purity determine whether a syrup proceeds to the crystallizers or ships as product. Process control focuses on colour, ash, and microbiological stability, since concentrated syrups can still support osmophilic yeasts if contaminated. These syrups illustrate how sugar manufacture produces a family of products, not just crystalline sugar.
