Beermaking
Beermaking is an alternative term for brewing, the craft and science of producing beer from malted grain, water, hops, and yeast. Whether in a homebrew bucket or a hundred-hectolitre brewhouse, the fundamentals are identical: convert starch to sugar through mashing, ferment it to alcohol and carbon dioxide with yeast, and condition for flavour, clarity, and carbonation. Sanitation is the make-or-break discipline at every scale, since wild microbes and residues cause off-flavours and spoilage that no recipe can rescue. Beyond the basics, beermaking rewards control of water chemistry, fermentation temperature, and ingredient quality, the variables that separate ordinary beer from exceptional beer.
