Bayrusil
Bayrusil is an alternative trade name for the insecticide quinalphos, an organophosphate used against sucking and chewing pests on crops such as rice, cotton, and vegetables. Like other organophosphates it inhibits cholinesterase, raising operator-safety and residue concerns that led to restrictions and bans in many countries. The name persists in older residue-monitoring records, toxicology studies, and regulatory archives from regions where quinalphos was once widely applied. Encountering Bayrusil in historical documents is therefore a signal to translate it to quinalphos and to recognise the compound as a member of the organophosphate family whose use is now heavily curtailed in favour of safer alternatives.
