Chlorocholine chloride
Chlorocholine chloride is another name for chlormequat (CCC), the plant growth regulator used to control stem growth and improve ripening and quality in cereals, fruits, and vegetables. By shortening and strengthening stems it helps prevent lodging in grain crops, where flattened plants would rot and be difficult to harvest, supporting yield and grain quality. As with all agrochemicals, its use is subject to approved application rates, timing restrictions, and maximum residue limits in food crops, with monitoring programs checking that residues in harvested produce remain within legal levels for consumer safety.
