Roller drying
Roller drying is a type of web drying where material follows a sinusoidal path around rollers while blown air supplies heat externally. It is one of the older industrial drying techniques, applied to products such as pregelatinized starches and certain food powders. The heat exposure involved can affect flavour, colour, and nutrient retention, so operating conditions are chosen to balance drying speed against product quality. Even airflow and temperature control give uniform moisture content in the finished material. Modern lines add precise moisture feedback to keep every batch within specification.
