Muesli
Muesli is a mixture of untoasted cereal flakes, for example oats, wheat, and rye, combined with dried fruits and nuts, often used as a breakfast cereal. It can be sweetened or unsweetened and is usually served with milk, yogurt, or fruit juice. Because it is not baked or extruded, its ingredients retain a chewy texture and natural flavour that distinguish it from granola. Manufacturers control moisture content and nut quality carefully, since the dried fruits and nuts determine shelf life and susceptibility to rancidity, mold, and insect infestation. Packaging with good moisture and oxygen barriers keeps it crisp.
