Cyclones
Cyclones are separation equipment for pulling solids out of air streams in food and feed plants. Each unit has a conical chamber fed tangentially, so centrifugal force throws particles against the walls while cleaned air leaves through the top. Flour mills, spray dryers and grain handlers use them to recover valuable dust, protect downstream equipment and cut emissions. With no moving parts they are robust and hygienic when built with smooth, cleanable surfaces; separation efficiency hinges on particle size, airflow and cone geometry.
