Propazine
A triazine herbicide sprayed before weed emergence to clear grasses and broadleaf weeds from carrot, parsley, and sorghum fields, crops that tolerate it while most other vegetables and cereals do not. Regulators place it in the lowest acute-toxicity category, EPA Category IV, meaning it is not acutely toxic by the standard measures. Selectivity, application timing, and soil behavior determine its field performance, and as with every pesticide, label rates, protective equipment, and buffer zones keep operators and the environment safe.
