Mango nectars
Mango nectars are fruit nectar beverages made from mango pulp diluted with water and sweeteners, occupying the regulatory category between pure juice and fruit drinks. They contain a lower pulp/fruit content than pure juice — minimum fruit contents are defined by fruit-juice regulations (e.g. 25% in the EU for mango nectar) — and are pasteurised for safety, then packed aseptically or chilled. Nectars deliver the characteristic rich mango flavour and mouthfeel in a ready-to-drink format at lower cost than pure juice, with Brix, acidity, pulp content and heat treatment standardised. Labelling must state the fruit content and distinguish nectars from juices and from fruit-flavoured soft drinks.
