Euparen
An alternative name for the fungicide dichlofluanid, used to protect crops against fungal diseases. As with all crop fungicides, residues on treated produce are subject to maximum residue limits set by food safety authorities, and use must follow approved label directions. Dichlofluanid was widely used on fruit, vegetables and ornamentals against botrytis and downy mildew before many authorisations were withdrawn over residue and environmental concerns. Its history illustrates the regulatory life cycle of older fungicides: once-standard treatments progressively restricted as toxicology and monitoring data accumulate.
