Bread rolls
Bread rolls are bread products formed from pieces of dough that are shaped as required before baking, producing small individual loaves. They may have a soft or crisp crust depending on the recipe and baking method, and they are also commonly referred to simply as rolls. Bread rolls are eaten with breakfast, alongside main meals, or as the carrier for sandwiches and burgers, making them one of the most versatile bakery products. Their quality depends on the same fundamentals as any bread: flour strength, balanced fermentation, careful shaping and well-judged baking for an even crumb and crust.
