Audit – FIFO Compliance
FIFO only works if the oldest stock is actually at the front. This audit checks what’s really on the shelves – not what the procedure says should be there.
Instructions: Audit monthly across all storage areas. Pull items forward mentally: is the shortest date at the front? Check date marks, overstocking, and anything unlabelled. Brief findings to the team; repeat failures get retraining or a layout change.

Notes and corrective action
Overstocking is the usual FIFO killer – when the shelf is jammed full, rotation becomes impossible. If FIFO keeps failing in one area, fix the stock levels, not just the shelf order. Photograph the worst shelf each audit – the picture makes the point in the debrief better than any score.
